If you want to live self sufficient, create a list of all the things you want to do to establish this type of lifestyle. Perhaps you want to install solar panels on your roof or a windmill in the backyard to generate electricity.

Once you have your list, start determining how much each of the things will cost you. You also want to create a goal for when each of these things is put into place. This will allow you to save and spend your money appropriately in order to get your self sufficient lifestyle started efficiently.
