The advantages of chalk

Chalk is such a useful tool. Many people associate chalk with school because it is used to write on the chalkboard. Outside of the classroom chalk has many practical uses that make it an extremely important member of your cleaning arsenal. Thankfully chalk is available at just about every office supply store and even in some grocery stores!

Chalk is an extremely porous substance that can absorb certain types of liquids. If you have a grease stain on a piece of clothing, grab a piece of chalk. Simply rub the chalk into the stain on your clothing. The chalk will actually absorb the grease and pull it right out of your clothing. Simply throw your clothing into the washer machine and presto magic your stain is gone forever!

Do you have an area in your home that is particularly susceptible to moisture? Remove a pack of chalk from the box and leave it in an inconspicuous location in your moisture prone area. It will actually absorb the moisture and prevent the mildew smell from developing.

Chalk is like magic if you have an ant problem in your home. Use your stick of chalk to draw lines where the ants cross into your home. This could be around a window sill or near the opening of your door. Ants hate chalk and will not enter your home if they have to cross a chalk line to do so! Chalk is much less expensive than expensive ant repellents and bait so this is a great way to save some extra money in your budget!
